The Brief

To breathe modern life in to a dated Edwardian home through extending and remodelling, whilst paying homage to to it's past and features.

Completed in 2021, the transformation of Little Silver is a testament to the delicate balance between preserving heritage and embracing modern living. Originally an Edwardian House, this project saw a complete renovation and thoughtful extension. Extended in the 1980s, the previous alterations included a two-storey side extension and a single-storey flat-roofed garage. Our clients expressed a deep desire to honour the home's original charm while enhancing its functionality and space. Working closely with them, our Associate Director, Vaughn created a vision that seamlessly integrated the original Edwardian section with a new, expansive three-storey extension, along with a conversion of the original roof space. The front of the extension pays homage to the Edwardian era, utilising matching imperial bricks for a cohesive aesthetic, while the rear boasts a modern twist, featuring slim-frame Maxlight sliding doors and a striking contemporary dormer window in the master bedroom which offers beautiful views of the Exe Estuary.
